Kevin (Kev) O'Neil is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator based out of Montreal, Canada. Initially a self-taught guitarist, bassist, singer and songwriter, he has 15 years of formal training in various aspects of music. He is M.Mus in Composition from Université de Montréal, and PhD-ABD (all but dissertation) in Music Education at McGill University, where his main area of research was creativity.

The recipient of funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, Kevin has been commissioned to compose for some of Canada's most lauded musicians. He notably composes for both traditional instruments and for acoustic-electronic hybrids; 2023 saw the release of Wood & Wires: New Music for Recorder and Electronics, an album devoted to his collaboration with recorder quartet Flûte Alors! He also directs and composes for his experimental guitar ensemble, the teotwawki quartet, which will release its debut album in the Spring of 2024.

Kevin is equally active as a producer, instrumentalist, and educator in other projects across a diversity of genres and communities.
